Last week, our team was in Toronto for Shopify Editions.dev and it delivered on every level. What started a few years ago as a twice-yearly product drop has grown into something that feels much closer to Shopify Unite: a gathering of the extended Shopify partner community that feels like a reunion in the best possible way.
A Week of Reconnecting and Reflecting
The week kicked off with partner meetups across the city. We caught up with Tom Arehart, our Shopify Partner Manager (Tom, the mustache is still a conversation starter), and started the week off on a high note. Thursday evening brought us to the Editions kickoff party at the Art Gallery of Ontario which is a beautiful venue that set the tone for a week of meaningful conversations.

There, we reconnected with Duncan Fairley for a great discussion about Shopify’s evolving Catalog API, AI, and where this platform is heading next. We also got to spend time with Stephanie Titus, who’s been part of our Shopify journey from the early days. These kinds of long-standing relationships are what make this community so special.
Friday’s Main Event: Product, Platform, and Perspective
Friday was the core event day, and Shopify didn’t disappoint. One of the standout moments for us was the Q&A with Tobi Lütke. Hearing directly from Shopify’s founder and CEO never fails to inspire. His perspective on product development, the role of AI, and the future of commerce left us feeling confident in the direction this platform and this ecosystem is headed. Read the full breakdown of Tobi’s Q&A here.

Gratitude and Momentum
If we had to sum up the week in one word, it would be gratitude. We’re thankful to be part of this ecosystem, surrounded by thoughtful builders, partners, and Shopify’s own passionate team. It’s energizing to see how far this community has come, and to imagine where we’re all going next.
Thanks to everyone who made the week what it was. We’re already looking forward to the next edition.
